Participants are than directed to an ancestral alter which contains tea light candles. Participants than light a candle for their personal ancestors and present their offerings in the designated hand constructed box. Libations are poured onto the offerings and they are presented to the Detroit River as participants sing and or pray silently. A prayer of blessing and acceptance of the offerings is performed and the ceremony is concludes with a closing prayer.
